The group is very informal and generally meets on the first Saturday of the month from 8.30 ready for a start at 09:00 after a drink and some toast etc. We normally aim to finish about 10.30
You do not need to book for these sessions. Just come along and take part.
The meeting (which is very informal) comprises two main sections – a reflection and sharing on a piece of scripture from the Gospels (we use the Common Lectionary and the reading for the upcoming Sunday) followed by an input and discussion/sharing on a topic relevant to Men’s spirituality. We then finish with some prayers of thanksgiving and petition.
Starting in Feb 2019 we will start a new topic area. During the period February to May 2019 inclusive we will watch 20 minute segments of the DVD – “Pope Francis – A Man of his word” as a stimulus to conversation and personal sharing.
The DVD – Pope Francis – A Man of His Word is a rare co-production with the Vatican. Pope Francis’ ideas and his message are central to this documentary, which sets out to present his work of reform and his answers to today’s global questions about death, social justice, immigration, ecology, wealth inequality, materialism, and the role of the family.
