Prayer, reflection and discussion with Kathryn Turner -member of the Bishops’ Conference Spirituality Committee and founder of Wellspring which offers spirituality and prayer resources.
Pope Francis has repeatedly used words such as gaudium – Gaudete – joy and rejoice – as ways in which we should respond to the call to faith and discipleship. His own papacy has been characterised by an informality and joy that has attracted people within and beyond the Church – but the Church is now facing a time of intense pain and darkness. The day will give us an opportunity to look at the exhortation, Gaudete et Exsultate – to reflect on some of the issues facing the Church – and then to explore ways in which we can make the call to rejoice and be glad real – for ourselves, for others in the Church – and for those longing to hear good news of faith, hope and love.
ACTA (A Call to Action) aims to encourage dialogue at all levels in the Church we love and to grow in our relationship with Jesus through an exploration of the Sacred Scriptures and the riches of Vatican II.
